High School Abroad in Canada: Safety and Support

Eligibility

  • Students aged 15–17 at the time of arrival
  • 2 or more years of English language study
  • Experience living away from home, maturity, and independence
  • An interest in learning about another culture and language
  • A willingness to share in the daily life of a host family
  • An open and flexible attitude which will allow the student to adapt to the school and host family environments

Nacel Canada's priorities are the safety and the well-being of the students.

Medical insurance

A medical insurance policy for a maximum of €500,000 is provided. All the information regarding the insurance, the details of the coverage, and the emergency phone number will be provided. Participants also have a third-party liability insurance policy for a maximum of €4,500,000.

Support and assistance

The participants have the support of their local representative and the Nacel Canada’s head office during their stay. The local representative will make monthly visits and/or telephone contacts to follow-up on the participant’s experience and progress. Copies of written material from these contacts will be provided to parennts. Policies and procedures will be reviewed with all students and host families during the first monthly home visit.
